We just got home from spending some time in Boston. I went up for a few sessions and brought the whole family this time.
We met up with my husband’s family there and had a fun-filled 5 days.
One of the highlights of the trip was going apple picking. It really is one of my favorite fall activities to do! And since we can’t do that down in Florida, it was special treat this year for my kids.
Not only did we get to pick apples, but the little ones were able to come home and make an apple pie with their Oma (Grandma). It was such an adorable thing to witness.

Easy Apple Pie Recipe
Crust-
1 box refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on box
Filling-
6 thinly sliced, peeled apples (6 medium)
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg1/2 stick of butter
- Heat oven to 425°F. Place 1 pie crust in ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate. Press firmly against side and bottom.
- In large bowl, gently mix filling ingredients; spoon into crust-lined pie plate. Top with second crust. Wrap excess top crust under bottom crust edge, pressing edges together to seal; flute. Cut slits or shapes in several places in top crust.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
