Tidbits: Patience

I am so impatient… it is embarrassing actually.

We have had these little baby mangos growing on our tree. Slowly, but surely.

Well, I keep going to check them. Like everyday. I think I am just excited to finally eat them.

And it is probably a lame example, but I was thinking about these little mangos. I was thinking about how it takes water, sun, dirt, and yes TIME in order for them to grow. I mean our tree is about as tall as me. Last year, it only kept one mango (it was such a good one though! delicious!).

This little tree kind of reminds me of my business. When I first started four years ago… I didn’t have a ton of fruit either. Heck, I had no idea what I was doing!

It has been awesome to see how much Captured has grown since it began. And in my impatient moments, I have to remind myself it took years. It took TIME. It was during that time I learned many lessons, gained much-needed experience, and built new relationships.

I know I have more room to grow. I have so many dreams and goals for the future. Sometimes I get so excited about these things, I wish they would happen… like now!  I just have to remember it will take time.

Ya feel me? Do you ever get like this? If so, maybe we can encourage each other to have a little more patience. 🙂

I know what you mean. It does take time. I just read a story today about the guy who created Draw Something and how it took him 6 years and 35 attempts and he was just about to quit..and then huge success. Not that that kind of growth is normal, but it’s all that time beforehand when he didn’t give up. I have days where I essentially have panic attacks that I’m not doing everything I need to do right now. Patience, with perseverance.

Thanks for this great reminder today. I’m very impatient too and I need to remember to be grateful for the season that I am in rather than always looking forward to the next.
