2014. So thankful.

I am sitting here thinking back on this past year…. and I am left feeling so, so appreciative. 2014 has brought me more blessings then I could have ever imagined.

(To read more about what’s been going on in my life.. check out my personal blog here).

And when I think about those blessings.. I can’t help but be thankful for this photography business. Crazy that this spring will mark 8 years I have been doing this (and February will be 5 years Shelly has been on board)!

Owning a business is really hard at times and I will always be honest about that. But, the freedom and joy this job brings me outweighs all of the hard things.

I get to witness the most precious moments in people’s lives, capturing it all.  It really is an incredible gift to be able to give others.

2014 was a great year for us business wise as well. Even though I tried to take a lighter schedule this year with my husband and I continuing to foster children, I still found myself plenty busy.

We were able to photograph over 30 portrait sessions, 22 weddings, and a few other projects. We were blessed to be published in 36 blog post features on some of the biggest wedding blogs in the industry. Our images were printed in 6 magazines this year! I actually had a tearful moment the other day at the grocery store… because I walked by the magazine rack and realized our images are currently in 4 of the wedding magazines on the shelf. How crazy is that?

We are looking forward to what next year has in store for Captured Photography.

Thank you to our amazing clients and friends. We are so grateful for all you do to support this business.

Happy New Year!

Oh, and for fun this afternoon I randomly selected some of my favorite images from 2014. I made an album on our Facebook page here. Go over and check it out! The image with the most likes will receive a $75 gift card to put towards prints, products, or a session.
